About us

About seothumb.com: senior practitioners, no junior hand-off

seothumb.com was started by people who spent years inside other agencies watching good strategy die in the hand-off. The audit was sharp. The person who wrote it never touched the implementation. Six months later the client had a 60-page PDF, a flat traffic graph, and an account manager who could not explain either one. This agency exists to close that gap: the practitioner who diagnoses the problem is the practitioner who fixes it, and the same person answers your email.

  • One senior owner

    Per account, end to end

  • $500k – $50M

    Client revenue band

  • 90 days

    Committed term, then monthly

Our Story

Most SEO buying decisions get made on a proposal that lists deliverables: four blog posts, ten links, a quarterly audit. None of that tells you whether the work will pay for itself.

seothumb.com was built around a different first step. Before we scope anything, we model the addressable demand in your category, estimate what those queries are worth at your current close rate and average order value, and state how many months of work it takes to move them. If the forecast does not clear the retainer, we say so and you keep your budget.

That method only works at a certain size, which is why the client band is deliberately narrow: businesses between $500k and $50M in revenue that already have a site, already have some organic traffic, and want that traffic to turn into pipeline rather than sessions. Below that threshold you usually need a better offer more than you need a full SEO program.

Who We Are

We are a small team of senior search practitioners, not a sales organization with a delivery department attached. Four roles run every engagement — a lead consultant, a technical SEO engineer, a content strategist and a digital PR lead — and you can see what each one owns.

The lead consultant who presents your audit runs your account for the life of the engagement. There is no hand-off to a junior pod after the pitch, and no consultant carries more than six accounts at once, because the sixth is the point at which people stop reading crawls properly and start reading dashboards.

We are also straight about the one claim a new agency cannot make. seothumb.com is a young brand run by experienced operators, not a decade-old firm with a wall of client logos. The track record sits with the people, and we will walk you through it on the call rather than implying otherwise here.

What We Do

We run six delivery tracks as one program, sequenced by what the audit finds rather than by what you bought:

  • Technical SEO — crawl, indexation, canonical control and Core Web Vitals on field data.
  • On-page SEO — titles, headings, internal links and schema fixed at template scale, so one deploy corrects thousands of URLs.
  • SEO content strategy — intent-mapped clusters and briefs written for subject-matter experts.
  • Link building and digital PR — editorially earned links, paced against your existing profile.
  • Ecommerce SEO — category architecture, facet crawl control and feed-aligned product schema.
  • Local SEO — Business Profile work, location pages and geo-grid rank tracking per branch.

Every engagement opens with the same free technical audit, and the audit decides the order. Pricing is flat monthly and scoped in advance, set out in full on the SEO pricing page.

Our philosophy: rankings are earned, not gamed

A search engine is trying to identify the best answer to a query and the most trustworthy entity behind it. Every durable SEO tactic makes that judgement easier and more accurate. Every fragile one interferes with it. We only do the first kind.

In practice, the fundamentals are assumed rather than sold. Everything in Google's SEO Starter Guide is table stakes, and we start where the guide stops: crawl budget on faceted catalogs, index bloat, JavaScript rendering, internal link distribution, entity coverage, and content a subject-matter expert would put their name to. Briefs are checked against Google's people-first content guidance before a word is drafted.

We accept the corollary too. Earned results are slower. Technical remediation usually shows measurable movement in 6 to 12 weeks. Content and links compound across 6 to 12 months. Anyone promising a steeper curve is either renting authority or reporting on branded traffic you already owned.

How an engagement with seothumb.com runs

Every engagement opens the same way and diverges after the audit tells us what the site actually needs.

Days 1 to 14, audit and forecast. A full crawl in Screaming Frog, log-file review where server access allows it, Search Console and CrUX field data, and a fix list scored by effort against revenue impact. You get the audit deliverable in detail as a 12-page document, not a 300-row spreadsheet export.

Days 15 to 45, technical remediation. Crawl and indexation control, canonical conflicts, template-level title and heading fixes, Core Web Vitals measured on field data. We write the tickets, and where we have repo or CMS access we ship them.

Days 46 to 90, on-page and content. Keyword-to-URL mapping, internal link injection, schema, and the first cluster of briefs.

After 90 days the retainer moves to month to month. Reporting is a written monthly analysis tied to revenue and qualified leads, plus a dashboard you can open any day.

Why trust this

A trusted source, and how you can check

Trust in this industry is asserted far more often than it is evidenced, so here is what ours actually rests on. Everything published here is written by the practitioners who do the work, checked against primary documentation, and reviewed by a second person before it goes live. Our full standard — including exactly where we use AI and where we refuse to — is public in our editorial guidelines.

We take no payment for any link, mention or recommendation on this site, and hold no affiliate relationship with any tool we name. We publish what we will not do as prominently as what we will. And where we cannot yet evidence a claim — client results, in our case — we say so rather than borrowing someone else's. What SEO can and cannot be guaranteed to do is set out in plain language in our results disclaimer.

Where we draw the line

What we refuse to do

“White hat” on its own means nothing, so here is the specific list. Declining the tactic that would produce a faster-looking chart is most of the job.

  • Private blog networks and paid follow links

Rented authority, and the rent always comes due.

  • Bulk guest posting

Hundreds of placements on sites that exist to sell placements is a footprint, not a link profile.

  • Link exchanges and reciprocal schemes

The same footprint, cheaper to detect.

  • AI-generated content at scale

We use models for research, clustering and first-pass structure. We do not publish unreviewed generated copy, because it carries no experience and has nothing of its own to cite.

  • Ranking guarantees

No agency controls the algorithm. A guaranteed position one is almost always a branded term you already ranked for.

  • Percentage-of-spend or traffic-based billing

It rewards volume instead of revenue.

The team shape

Four senior roles, one accountable owner

Specialists work alongside the lead consultant, never instead of them. Full detail of what each role owns is on the team page.
